Ohio PASSES NEW LAW That Protects Our Four Legged Friends…FELONY FOR DOING THIS! BAM!

Animal lovers will be happy to hear that a new law has come into effect that will definitely protect our furry little friends. The Goddard’s Law went into effect on September 13th, 2016 and it charges anyone who harms an animal with a felony.

On September 13th of 2016, a new law went into effect in Ohio, that has not only Animal Rights activists excited, but animal lovers all over are also celebrating. Anyone who harms an animal will be charged with a felony. It’s called Goddard’s Law, named after Dick Goddard from the Cleveland TV station WJW. It’s also called House Bill 60.

A fifth degree felony will be handed out to any human who purposely causes harm to a companion animal. While this is the lowest type of felony, it still is a huge step for protecting animals.

The bill received bipartisan support as Republican David Hall and Democrat Bill Patmon worked together to get it done. Through the Senate it passed and it got through the House with a vote of 92 to 1!
