SOURCE | Since August 5th, the rollback superstore Walmart has experienced a number of circumstances in their parking lots that have ranged from disturbingly odd to disturbingly tragic…

Monkey on the loose:

A woman called police on Sunday, reporting that a monkey larger than her two-year-old was running around a Walmart parking lot in Lancaster, PA.

As the Lancaster Eagle Gazette reports, the monkey had escaped from an RV trailer in the parking lot. It bit an Walmart employee. However, no medical attention was required and the monkey was returned to the camper after it was caught.

Bee attack:

Last Saturday, a man selling beehives met a prospective client in a Walmart parking lot in Oklahoma City.

Unfortunately, during the transaction, an estimated 30,000-60,000 bees escaped and swarmed the area. According to ABC, three people were hospitalized, two in serious condition.

Drug lab found:

A meth lab was found in a culvert that runs below a Walmart parking lot in Amherst, NY. Police were making a routine check of places thatpeople “might be using for no good” when they stumbled upon the makeshift lab.

NBC reports the evidence recovered included “spray paint can, some various chemicals, a liquid we believe is methamphetamine.”

The people of Amherst were shocked to say the least. Resident Steve Harding told NBC, “This isn’t the kind of thing you’d expect in a place like this, that’s the bottom line.”

Man with stab wound discovered:

Just last night, a man in a Walmart parking lot next to his car in Falmouth, ME, was found in a pool of blood.

According to the Portland Press Herald, the 67-year-old man was found at 3:30 a.m. in the morning.

Police are still investigating the situation, telling the Portland news outlet:

“We don’t if he was the victim of a crime or if he initiated this himself,” said Lt. John Kilbride.

The man is currently being hospitalized.

Body found in car:

A woman was found dead in a Walmart parking lot in Forest City, North Carolina, on August 5th.

WLOS reports that authorities are checking security tapes to determine how long the woman had been there. Police would not release the 44-year-old woman’s full identity, but did reveal where she was from. Sadly, it looks like the woman was a long ways from home with driver’s license address from Fort Collins, Colorado. Her death, at this point, is not being viewed as suspicious.

Baby in a hot car:

In a tragic turn of events for a family, a six-month-old was discovered deadin a hot car in a Walmart parking lot in Helotes (San Antonio), Texas, over the weekend.

The child was the son of a Walmart employee, who as ABC reports, forgot to drop him off at daycare before his shift. He parked the car at approximately 6:15 a.m. and the baby was not discovered in the SUV until three in the afternoon. No charges have been filed.

Police officer fatality:

Just today a police officer was investigating a series of car break-ins in a Walmart parking lot in Lenoir, NC. WSOCTV reports that the officer was in the store when he was shot and killed.

A suspect is in custody, but the investigation is ongoing.

Hopefully this trend doesn’t continue.
