Anti-allergy medicine EpiPen recall expands to US

Major recall on Epipen is world wide.

Two months ago the pharmaceutical company known as Mylan started a recall after two separate reports of the product failing surfaced. Now this recall has spread to the US.

An epipen is a device used to treat sever allergic reactions and is a life saving device people depend on. Being in a situation where an epipen is needed, having the epipen in hand, only to find out it doesn’t work could lead to some tragic deaths.

A recall of the emergency anti-allergy medicine EpiPen is expanding to the U.S. and other markets in North America, Europe, Asia and South America because the allergy shots may not work.

Mylan didn’t immediately respond to a question about how many devices are affected by the recall. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration says the recall covers 13 lots distributed from December 2015 through July 2016.

If you or a family member use an Epipen you might want to consider going out and getting a new one on the off chance the one you have is defective.
