6-Yr Old Who Was KIDNAPPED Is Safely Home, Cops Were HORRIFIED At What The Suspect Did…

VIA| A missing 6-year-old girl from Wilmington, North Carolina, was found chained to a tree one day after she was reported kidnapped.

The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office issued an Amber alert on Sept. 14 for the girl after she went missing.

After much searching, police found the little girl the morning of Sept 15. Police say a K-9 officer helped locate her. When they finally got to her, she was found chained to a tree in a wooded area, according to WNCN-TV.

The most horrific part of all might be that the girl was just two miles from her home.

Thankfully, she was quickly brought to the hospital to be evaluated.

The man suspected of kidnapping the little girl was arrested and held on a $9 million bond. Identified as a registered sex offender, 46-year-old Douglas Edwards was charged with first-degree kidnapping and taking indecent liberties with a child.

According to the judge, the charges could carry a maximum sentence of 290 months in prison. Edwards will appear in court again on Oct. 6.

Edwards had previously been convicted on first-degree sexual offense and taking indecent liberties with a minor in 1996, crimes that sent him to prison for 16 years. He finished serving that sentence in May 2012.

As for the family and friends of the little girl, they were understandably shocked and upset.

“It was the worst day for us yesterday because … we don’t know what’s going on with her. If she’s doing OK,” family friend Leslie Hernandez told the station. “Right now she’s not talking about it. She’s so happy. Like she’s so happy to see the family and the friends.”

The little girl was released from the hospital and surrounded by people who love her. As for the attacker, we hope he will soon feel the swift hand of justice.

Just 24 years for his second offence? Evidently his first journey through the prison system didn’t teach him anything. At 70 (if there are people who will convince the parole board to deny every time) he can still prey upon little girls.
